Over this past summer Grace, Britt, Carly and I took a six hour road trip to Pittsburgh just to see Anthony Kiedis! Anthony curated this years New American Music Union that was held on August 8 and 9 at South Side Works, Pittsburgh. Curated means organized/hosted. He put together the lineup and chose the artists. Anthony was pretty much hiding during the festival, he didn't want things to be about him.. he wanted the festival to be dedicated to the performers which is understandable but kinda upsetting. My friends and I spotted Anthony on the side of the stage looking sexy as always, eating, dancing, sporting a bandana and shirt with kisses:) We couldn't control ourselves. We were jumping up and down and tearing up and just in absolute awe. Anthony looked at us and smiled and I blew him a kiss and he blew one back at us!! My friend Brittanys an artist and she made this poster that her and Grace spent the whole night before decorating. They both are very creative haha but Brittany held her sign up and she actually is in footage of the festival on American Eagles website. Eventually we were able to get Britt's poster backstage so Anthony could see it and he took a picture with it!! Also I have a Chili Pepper asterisk on my lower back and the friendly lady who took the poster backstage took a picture of my tattoo and showed it to Anthony as well:) My friends and I were determined to meet this man who has changed our lives. The best part is my friend Grace manipulated her way back behind the security guys and as Anthony walked by this one guy goes "this girl is your biggest fan" and Anthony actually walked over to her and she got to full out hug him!!! I'm so jealous, she actually got to smell him and rest her head on him!! lol the first thing that came to her mind was me, Britt, and Carly standing at the fence thinking about how unbelieveable this was. She asked him to "please come meet my three best friends" and he came over to us and shook our hands as we each got to say a few words to him then a few others took advantage of the opportunity and Anthony had to leave. I did get the chance to ask him if he saw my tattoo and I was bending over showing him when he came over!! haha I gotta thank Grace for this:) Also quick note: we ran into this one girl who was a dancer for NASA and she said that Anthony Kiedis came into her dressing room when she was changing just to tell her she was sexy.. he didn't know she was changing at the time but how lucky is she.. she said how nice he was but she didn't seem as excited as she should have been hahah for the performance she and another girl were painted green and dressed in these silver bathing suits.
